100 questions no one thinks to ask

So this weeks blog is a bit similar to last weeks, it's just about getting to know me, I've had a bit of writers block and couldn't think of anything and pretty much left it to last minute so sorry if its a bit naff but hey, so lets get into it...

50 facts about me!

This is just a post to help you get to know me more, if your not someone that already knows me (which I know some of you are).
  1. My full name is Hayley Louisa Elliott
  2. I was born on the 7th of august 1996 making me 18 right now, I was actually born 6 weeks early though.
  3. I was born in Scarborough but moved to Teeside when I was 4, I now consider my town home because all of my life is here (friends, memories etc)
  4. I'm 4'9 (and a half) I'm not too sure why, I used to say it was because I was premature.
  5. When I was born I was breached (leg first) and before cutting me out, the doctor tried to pull me out causing my right foot to face inwards when I walk slightly.
  6. I have Acute Hypermobilty Syndrome in my knees and it's really annoying because it means I can't run properly without it actually hurting for ages, my doctor said I'd grow out of it but I'm not actually growing so yeah, up yours Dr Kwan or whatever your name is!
  7. I have an amazing group of friends, who have actually put up with a lot of shit from me to be honest and I think I used to take them for granted(not purposely, just subconsciously) but I don't now because I've realised there is going to be times when I need them and they wont be there for me if I'm a twat. Thankfully we are all there for each other and they really are the most supportive and helpful people and it's just wonderful to know I have them and when they read this I want them to know I'll always be there for them too!!
  8. On the subject of friends I have one best friend (Hi Holl) and everything I've just said about our whole group in the last point applies to her and more! I literally spend so much time with her and she's just great she really is, (If your reading this Holl, love you chicken)!
  9. I'm quite clever, and that's not me being big headed, I was in mainly the top sets at school and didn't do too bad in my GCSE's I even got into sixth-form, did alright in my A levels and then got into uni too. All of that aside, I am probably the doziest person you will ever meet, honestly before I said to Hollie and her sister that Newcastle was in Scotland, obviously it isn't and they haven't let it go ever since!
  10. I decided not to go to uni and I'm now looking for an apprenticeship or a job!
  11. I was in the school production of bugsy malone as a dancer, I'll put a photo in at the end of it haha!
  12. In like year 8/9 I developed like a huge obsession with Lil wayne and young money and was obsessed with rapping like I did/still do rap all the time and I have actually rapped in front of almost my whole secondary school in the talent show with my friend Joanne, we did 'she said' by plan B and she sang and I rapped and you know what it was great! I also rapped super bass at prom too (less swearing LMFAO)
  13. Most of my school reports that I've seen have a kind way of saying I need to shut up more in class. Talking is the only thing I really got told off for, other than that I was a model student. (Apart from swearing really loudly at someone when one of my teachers had asked me a question, walking out of a class cause I couldn't get sent out, throwing a cup of water in another girls face and throwing salad at someone and not cleaning it up)
  14. Lots of people used to say something about my height and it only ever bothered me if it was a teacher like on my first day a teacher who later became my life skills teacher and enrichment leader looked at me and said 'you're tall aren't you!' I just glared at him and walked off in sassy year 7 style.. Another time my French teacher was asking for volunteers for an activity on the interactive whiteboard and I knew the answer but she didn't pick me and then said in front of the whole class, 'I didn't think you'd be able to reach the answer Hayley' So yeah
  15. I am quarter Italian and this is what I blame my short height on because Italians are short!
  16. It has only rained on my birthday 3 times ever, and considering I live in England I think that's pretty good!
  17. I have so many favourite films but of all of them I could never get bored of Billy Elliot or any harry potter, they're my absolute favourites
  18. I am the clumsiest of people, I'm forever walking into door frames and tripping over nothing. I was just as bad as a child, so bad in fact that at on point the hospital were monitoring me for child abuse (not that there was any) this was because from the age of two, I was very defiant, if I was told not to touch something I would and it wouldn't always be paint or other harmless things it'd be an iron that's turned on or a heater that was turned on too, I was terrible.
  19. The only things I eat at McDonald's is a quarter pounder meal with cola or a cheeseburger or a chicken nugget happy meal again with cola.
  20. That leads me on to my next fact, I don't say 'coke' when im talking about the drink, I say 'cola' I don't even know why, It's not even something I've done since being little.. no one even says it around me, I just don't say coke!
  21. I am infatuated with Niall Horan - I literally believe I'm going to marry him, I know I wont but I will never say it's impossible because John travolta's wife saw the poster for grease walking out of the cinema and she said she was going to marry him and obviously she did so there you go! (I'm so embarrassing)
  22. I watch so much TV but I only watch like two channels, three at a push and that's E4, BBC3 and Viva.
  23. My favourite perfume is 'Far Away' from avon, it smells so nice either that or 'cool water - wave' by davidoff.
  24. I have a fascination with candles, I have about 6 dotted around my room and all of them are scented.
  25. Half way there I'm positive I have misophonia which is a severe hatred of specific sounds and I know everyone hates some sounds but this is to the extent to where I have arguments with my mum almost every meal time and I feel so uncomfortable eating around my mum and other people - not everyone though, theres only some people I notice any sounds from.
  26. I have 3 half empty bottles of alcohol in my room that belong to hollie, my bestfriend, we're trying to see how long I'll actually keep them here.
  27. I have really fair skin like I burn so much but then I tan/peel I also have tonnes of freckles all year round but they get really bad in the summer!
  28. My natural hair colour is light brown but from the age of 12/13 I've been dying it, I started of reddish brown so it wasn't too bad but then I dyed it bright red (you know like when everyone did it) from there I went black, I then went ginger and kept that for about a year or less and began to bleach my hair and now I'm blonde-ish.
  29. when my hair was ginger loads of people when I started college, thought it was my natural colour and were really shocked when I told them.
  30. When I was little I cried at films, not at a sad bit though, at happy bits like beauty and the beast, I didn't want the beast to turn into a prince, the jungle book, I didn't want mowgli to go to the man village and the lost toys.. I didn't want them to go home! now I dont have a clue why the happy endings upset me so much but they did and thats fine!
  31. I am a morning person when im on my own but if I've just opened my eyes and my mum is in my bedroom talking to me, I feel like murdering her!
  32. I sucessfully managed to hide my cracked phone from my dad from new years eve until june - and I'm not the most discreet of people!
  33. I have a harry potter quote on my wall
  34. I also want a harry potter themed tattoo
  35. If I'm really interested in a book, I can read it in like a day (if im not busy) when I was little I read the goblet of fire in a day.
  36. I binge watch shows all the time, until I was fully caught up it was Pretty little liars (my fave), now it's the office and keeping up with the kardashians.
  37. Since turning 18 over a month ago, I've only been to town twice but I haven't been ID'd in a shop once!
  38. I do the annoying thing where I listen to a new song for ages until I can't stand it any more and then I get upset cause I don't like it any more!
  39. Neither of my final pieces for my art coursework were completely done by me, technically I cheated but what the teacher doesn't know wont hurt!
  40. Im not actually doing 50 facts (misleading title) because I'm not interesting enough to have 50 interesting facts about myself, sorry bout it!

If you sat and read this well done you can have 20 brownie points! Sorry I didn't end up doing 50 but I really couldnt think of anything :(

you are from mars, we are from venus - 10 (or more) things men should know!

This is probably the most found post on blogs but nonetheless I shall be making it so go get some biscuits and a drink of your choice (or not, your call) and enjoy!
  1. We like to mix it up - As happy as we are to go out and do romantic couple things every now and then, contrary to popular belief, we aren't actually that arsed, we would be just as happy to have a nice night in watching bad TV with good shows, as long as you're having a good time, who cares what you're doing? (This doesn't include anniversaries though, we expect at least a little romance on those occasions). Some ideas could be finding a new show for the two of you to watch on netflix or make cakes together, I don't know the world really is your oyster, my point is we don't expect a big deal every single time we do something, we're just as happy to chill in the house doing nothing.
  2. Remember little things - As weird as it sounds, you'd be surprised how many girls would agree! Not only is it proof you listen to us but it's just nice. Now I don't mean you have to listen with adoration to every word we say, I just mean if we tell you about something coming up or something we're doing remember it and ask us about it. This actually also helps when trying to buy gifts for us cause lord knows we're not the easiest to buy for! If we tell you something about our childhood, like something we had and loved but don't have any more, remember things like that or if we tell you something is our favourite perfume, when you're in the doghouse you'll know how to get yourself out! ALWAYS remember the big things too though like birthdays, anniversaries
  3. Dressing up - Girls don't get dressed up just for boys, I know people (not myself) that could put makeup on just to stay in the house and it's completely just for us. Obviously if we're meeting a boy for the first time, we'll make a good impression and look okay but we do not do it just for boys. If we're comfortable with you we'll probably wear our comfiest clothes and only a little cover-up IF THAT!
  4. Being clingy isn't good in a boy - Now I in no way mean you should be distant all the time and be hard to reach because that's upsetting and stressful. What I do mean is that you don't have to start every conversation, (if you do start every single conversation the girl is either making you work REALLY hard or she just isn't into you) if we want to talk, we will.
  5. Be a friend first - If you've just started talking to a girl and you think she's nice, talk to her as a friend first, get to know her, what she likes and what she doesn't, no respectable girl I know appreciates full on flirting the first time she talks to you. I know that you might be scared that you'll get friend-zoned but you just have to work at it and build up the flirting (make sure she knows  you're interested), don't lay the compliments on too heavy too fast either, it makes conversations so awkward when we don't know what to say back! We remember it when we're down and you can be there for us!
  6. You can have friends of the opposite sex - If you're a girl and you've just read this you're probably thinking "oh hell no, if he so much as looks at a girl... we're done" and I agree IF ITS NOT PLATONIC! If a boy is friends with a girl and has been for some time, something would have happened if it was ever going to! This doesn't mean to go out and get female friends cause that's v unacceptable but if you already have them, don't push them away, it's not nice especially if you're close to them, that upsets us too!
  7. We have male friends too- This point is pretty self explanatory but we do! Lots of girls have boys that they look at more as brothers than anything, we may have slight 'flanter' (flirty banter - *cringes as I type it*) with them but that's it, just like I said in the last point, if anything was ever gonna happen it would've! The only reason you'd have to feel threatened by a boy like this is if you hurt us, then your in for it (I literally sound like my nan)
  8. Don't ditch - If we have plans and you get asked to go somewhere with you're friends don't just bail/ditch and then change our plans, that's not fair at all. We wouldn't expect you to ditch your friends either though, if you have plans and we ask to do something, don't lie to us or ditch your friends just say and (forgive me if I speak for myself here) but we will be understanding and it'll all be great.
  9. Give compliments, not criticism - The age old question that the entire male species dreads 'Does my bum look big in this?' (I actually have never asked that, even of myself but yeah...). This is a case of, if you have nothing nice to say don't say it.. If you think we look nice in something - tell us it'll make our day! That being said, we wouldn't want you to let us go out looking ridiculous either, just don't be rude about it, we might not be too thankful at first but after consideration, we'll realise and be glad. Even if the criticism is playful and you say you're joking, it'll stick to us for ages, gnawing away at our self esteem, I'm not even exaggerating.
  10. Personal Space - This is described in the film 'angus, thongs and perfect snogging' as the elastic band theory (I'm sure any British girl reading this will understand exactly what I mean, I'm not too sure about other readers)  The gist is after a period of closeness we like to ping off (there's the elastic band we were talking about) and relax a bit, the space period probably wont be long but when we need space, it's important you let us have it, you don't have to cut communication just don't bug us and we'll return the favour when it's your turn.
Other things you should know
  • If we ask certain questions, it isnt always because we want to know, it's because we know the answer and we want to hear it from you!
  • If we say 'what did you just say?' don't actually repeat yourself, we're giving you the chance to think what you said and change your answer!
  • If you've had a thing with a girl and she's still hung up on you, don't talk to her at parties cause that'll get her hopes up, don't flirt with other girls near us either.
  • Girls have ways of finding out everything, even if you're not with us there'll be someone who knows us that would tell us everything you did, just be careful!
  • You should be exactly who you want around us, we don't want to find that you change entirely when we're around your friends.
So that's it for this weeks blog (she says as if it was short) I'd like to point out that these are my opinions/views/words etc and may or may not apply to other girls, if you're a girl  and you agree (or even disagree) leave a comment and let me know, also if there's anything you want to see from me then, again, let me know in the comments and I'll get back to you or whatever!
I'd really like to thank you if you're reading this, it means a lot as a first time blogger, I'd also like to thank my friends who at such an early stage are being so supportive and nice, love yas

Surviving Sixth Form

I went to a sixth form college and really enjoyed it and I feel that this was down to my friends and other experiences so I felt that it would be a good idea for me to write a post with advice and ideas to get you through those two years that can only be described as marmite - you either love it or hate it!

Friendship
One reason I enjoyed college was because I had good friends throughout the two years I was there. On my first day I already knew people that had come from my school and although I wasn't close to them at the time I attached myself to the group and thus had friends at college. Now that's all good and dandy to have people at break and dinner to sit with and have a laugh with but you will most likely need to make friends in classes (unless your friends are in your classes too) which isn't always easy. most teachers will force you to move from the seat you chose and sit next to someone you don't know and although this is nerve racking, you will certainly make friends by doing this because you're all in the same boat and have to talk to each other. If this doesn't happen which it most likely will, you can always find someone when having to do a partner project. Even if it doesn't happen straight away, you will make friends in your class!

Sticking to deadlines
This is actually quite hypocritical of me as I didn't always manage it and your only human, when doing 4 almost brand new subjects you wont always be able to stick to deadlines but at least trying to will make your life easier. The best way to do this is to start the assignment as soon as you can and plan the assignment out. Like I said I didn't always stick to the deadline but I was always honest with my teachers, if it was close to a deadline and I didn't think I would be able to make it, I would hang back after class and explain to the teacher why I was unable to complete it for the deadline and they were always supportive and gave any help they could. Never rush something to get it in on time, you could lose valuable marks from your coursework

Pick something you're interested in
My law teacher always said people are generally happier in college because they aren't being forced to do the subject, they are doing it out of interest. If you enjoy the subject you're more likely to get good grades in it and in the first few weeks of college your allowed to change your subjects so if you don't like something, don't stick in it because your friends do it or because your parents want you to, find something that you'll enjoy but will still help in your future.

Use your free periods wisely
I know that you don't always want to sit and work through all of your free periods but it'll help in the long run. If you have work that isn't computer based then great, go and sit with your new found friends in the common room or wherever you want and do your work just make sure you make time to do it all.

Revision
So this sounds like such a teacher-ish thing to say but honestly you can never revise enough, even more so when January exams have been eliminated! When I first started college my history teacher asked me to set a personal target and it was to revise from the start and she said I wouldn't need to, I wish I had though! I still actually stick by that too, when you finish a topic in college, make some notes, revise it and try and remember it, don't spend too long on it because you have to learn other stuff but you'll be glad you did when it gets to exam season and you'll find it less stressful!

So this is my first proper post and I'm not sure whether it'll be liked that much or if anyone will even read it (cue Bridget Jones singing 'all by myself') but if you are someone who has read this, please give me feedback, it's really helpful for me and it's just something for me to do really

Introducing me

As you can probably tell, my name is Hayley Louisa Elliott. I am an 18 year old from a small town in Teeside. I live with my mum (for now) and am a generally happy person. I'm not exactly sure what to put in this to be honest, I don't even know how often I'm supposed to blog, maybe I'll do two one being a weekly update and another being a blog post that's about something, I'm not sure, I'll see haha. Until I get the hang of this I might be a little bit higgledy-piggledy.

I feel like as an introduction to a blog I should tell you what my blog will be about, at the moment, I'm not sure, mainly me and my life but I'll include things that happen in the news (celeb gossip?) and my views on the matters probably. I've actually come to the decision to post a blog post once a week and the at the end of each month I will post an update on what I've been doing, what I've enjoyed through the month and other little bits

If you have any opinions (literally any) just leave me a comment and I'll definitely take it into consideration
